Stacey Gooden (Women's Basketball) maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average throughout her academic/athletic career. She became the first UTPA student-athlete to be named Valedictorian of her graduating class in psychology and rehabilitative services.
Natalie Haime (Women's Golf) represented UTPA at the 2006 NCAA Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL.
Gooden earned the Ann LaMantia Award for the UTPA female student-athlete with the highest grade point average.
Otis Powers was honored with the Lou Hassel Award for the UTPA male student-athlete with the highest grade point average.
Melissa Uriegas (Women's Golf) was awarded with the State Farm Insurance/PGA Minority College Golf Scholarship.
Karen Lyons and Stephanie Redd were selected to the 2005 Academic All-Independent Women's Volleyball Team.
