2005 [Junior Season]
Guerra was the most successful pitcher on the Bronc pitching staff in 2005, notching a 5-5 record...logged 89 innings on the mound as a junior, the most on the team...started 12 games for the Broncs...led the team with 69 strikeouts while only walking 18...recorded a complete game victory, seven-hitter, allowing two earned runs against Dallas Baptist (Apr. 15)... pitched eight innings, allowing just one earned run and five hits against Sam Houston State (Mar. 5) to earn the win.
2004 [Sophomore Season]
Guerra started in two games on the mound for the Broncs last season... made 13 appearances and recorded one save... pitched a total of 28.0 innings, striking out 16... earned a save against Southeastern Louisiana (May 8) in a 3-2 victory.
2003 [Freshman Season]
Guerra was second on the staff in games started as a freshman... was the only Bronc to pitch a complete-game shutout when he hurled a one-hitter against Incarnate Word (Feb. 19)... finished fourth on the season in ERA at 6.32... ranked second in innings pitched with 68.1... struck out five batters against Texas (Apr. 8).
Edinburg High School - In his senior season, Guerra posted an 8-5 record on the mound... pitched a one-hitter against Falfurrias High School in the Mercedes Tournament in 2000... cited as the tournament's Most Valuable Player... was a member of the National Honor Society.
Personal - Guerra is the son of Jose and Sylvia Guerra... born Oct. 11, 1982... has two brothers, Eric and Joe... majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry.
